the PROCERA® AllCeram crown. PROCERA® AllCeram is made up of a
bio-compatible material which is comparable to titanium, and the material
is so effective that the risk of allergic reactions is minimal.
The benefits of the PROCERA® AllCeram crown include:
- Provides strength and endurance
- Allows the dentist to create reliable ceramic veneers
- The results are natural-looking and beautiful
- The simplicity of the system reduces chair time
- The results are easy and predictable
When Would a Crown Be Necessary?
PROCERA® is technically a high strength, all-ceramic restoration that
is strong and capable of making a precise fit. PROCERA® AllCeram can
be used for a prosthetic reconstruction anywhere in a patient's mouth.
A crown may be a necessary restoration if you need or have had a root
canal. After a root canal, it's essential that a crown be placed on
top of the remaining tooth structure in order to prevent further damage
and decay. PROCERA® crowns can also restore chipped, cracked or broken teeth.
Placing a PROCERA® AllCeram Crown: Step by Step
The course of treatment described here is one of several options available.
Consult your cosmetic dentist to find out what the best solution is for
you, given your specific condition.
#1: Before the Procedure: Your dentist will evaluate your teeth and make an impression of the existing crown.
#2: Preparing the Old Tooth: The tooth will be given minor preparation, and a temporary crown will be attached.
#3: Placing the New Crown: About one week after the first visit, you will be fitted with a new, permanent crown.
#4: The Final Result: Your new tooth will blend in perfectly with the surrounding teeth, and
should last a lifetime.
