Full Arch Replacement

Do You Need a Full Arch Replacement?

Award-Winning Implant Dentistry in San Diego, CA

People elect to get full arch replacements for a variety of reasons. People usually decide to get dental implants in order to improve their appearance. When people are missing all of their teeth, they tend to look older and their faces can have a "hollow" appearance. Full arch replacements produce dramatic results; they can make you look younger and fill out your features.

While there are many reasons for getting dental implants, some of them include:

  • Loss of teeth, whether from decay, disease or injury
  • To improve appearance and restore your smile
  • Fill out your face (without teeth, facial muscles can sag)
  • To improve your ability to eat and speak normally

When all of a person's teeth are missing or they need to be replaced, a fixed bridge anchored to dental implants is the best permanent solution. Before dental implants were introduced, there was no fixed solution available for people who had lost all of their teeth. Today's modern implant dentistry makes it possible for you to get a permanent, stable and aesthetic solution.

Steps to Installing the Fixed Bridge

The course of treatment described here is one of several options available. Please consult with our San Diego implant dentist at Advanced Dentistry & Implant Center to find out what the best solution is for you, given your specific condition.

#1: Before the Procedure: Dr. Mirkhan will determine what needs to be done and prepare you for the procedure.

#2: Installing the Implants: Implants are installed to replace the lost tooth roots. Temporary teeth are attached.

#3: Attaching the Bridge: The final bridge is installed on top of the implants. With a full jaw replacement, it may take 2-3 visits.

#4: The Final Result: Your new teeth should be hard to tell from natural teeth, both for you and others.

Are There Any Alternatives to a Fixed Bridge?

Dental implants and a fixed bridge can also be installed to replace lost tooth roots. Once complete, you will be able to eat and use your teeth as if they were natural. Instead of the problems and pains that come with traditional dentures, a full arch replacement will serve you well for life. It can not only improve your facial appearance, but it can prevent bone loss and jaw deterioration.
